Hubway Stone attended Coverings 2026 in Las Vegas as a visitor this year.
For us, this was not about promotion or visibility. The goal was simple – to better understand how the U.S. stone industry is evolving, directly from manufacturers, suppliers, and equipment producers.

A Market Built Around Production and Processing
One of the most noticeable aspects of the exhibition was the strong focus on:
- stone manufacturers
- finished product suppliers
- processing equipment and machinery
Unlike what some may expect, the show was not centered around slab yards or distribution companies. Instead, it highlighted the production and transformation side of the industry.
This provides a different perspective on how the supply chain is structured – starting from quarry extraction, moving through processing, and ending with fabrication and installation.

Key Observations from the Show Floor
Several consistent patterns stood out across multiple exhibitors and conversations:
1. Strong Presence of International Suppliers
A strong presence of Asian manufacturers – particularly from Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, and China – was noticeable, alongside established suppliers from Turkey, Italy, and Brazil, reflecting the global structure of the U.S. stone market.
2. Focus on Efficiency and Processing Technology
Equipment manufacturers emphasized:
- automation
- precision cutting
- production speed
This reflects increasing pressure on fabricators to improve efficiency and reduce labor dependency.
3. Growing Demand for Consistency
Across different segments, one topic kept coming up – consistent supply.
Reliable sourcing, stable quality, and predictable delivery timelines are becoming more important than ever for U.S. buyers.

What This Means for Stone Supply
From a supply perspective, the structure becomes clearer:
- production is global
- processing is becoming more advanced
- expectations from buyers are increasing
This creates a gap between traditional supply chains and what the market now requires.
At Hubway Stone, this reinforces our direction:
- direct quarry sourcing
- container-based supply
- focus on consistency and long-term relationships

Looking Ahead
Attending Coverings as a visitor provided valuable insight into how the industry operates beyond the surface level.
Our goal is to continue building a supply model aligned with real market needs – not assumptions.
We also see this as a starting point.
In the coming years, we plan to explore participation not only as a visitor, but as an exhibitor at future editions of Coverings.
If you attended Coverings 2026 or are working within the stone supply chain in the U.S., we are always open to meaningful industry conversations.
